The 26 lowercase letters a-z, and the 10 digits 0-9, all use the official canonical morse code patterns.

To make a letter uppercase, enter the pattern for "x" ( - . . - ) followed immediately by the pattern for the letter you want to enter as uppercase.
Example: Lowercase "x" has the pattern "- . . -", so UPPERCASE "X" would be entered as the digraph XX (- . . - - . . -)
You can also prepend "X" to the digits 0..9 to obtain the character
you'd get by shifting the digit's key on a US English PC keyboard.
(don't worry,
there are better/easier ways to enter them... these patterns exist only
because some people might find them easier to remember).
